Tricks and steps to solving Fill in the blanks:-
The first and foremost step is to Read the Instructions carefully.
Before you start, it is important to read the instructions carefully. Check to see how many words you'll be required to write as mentioned in the instructions. You can write one or two words if it says "no more than two." You can write one, two, or three words if it states "no more than three." Remember those numerals, such as 72, count as one word, and hyphenated words, such as state-of-the-art, count as one word.
Being able to decipher the meaning of sentences.
You must be able to understand the partial meaning of a statement when reading it. Only then will you be able to determine the proper response in the passage and of the context if it is correctly comprehended, you will be closer to coming up with a solution. Once you've grasped it, you'll be able to locate the relevant context in the paragraph (s). As a result, it's critical to recognize that this work necessitates the user's comprehension of the context and meaning of the sentences. Before hunting for an answer, patiently read the question. Before reading the content, read the questions because they will provide you context and a searchable area in the paragraphs.
Mark the important keywords.
It is vital to highlight the main terms in the statement and connect the information in the paragraph. You won't be able to discover straight information, so you'll have to associate it with similar or opposing words. It's probable that the answer will be paraphrased. Make sure you consider paraphrases and synonyms while you search for your solution.
Grammatical comprehending of sentences.
Every sentence is accompanied by a set of grammar rules. You will be able to locate the correct answer if you grasp these grammar rules. The words before and following the blanks indicate the type of word that might appear in the blanks. To answer the missing word, it is, therefore, necessary to comprehend grammar rules. Fill in the blanks is a test of your ability to distinguish between nouns, adjectives, adverbs, and verbs.
Enrich your ‘Vocabulary’.
Learn commonly used words on academic topics to build a diverse vocabulary. To improve your IELTS academic vocabulary, read as much as possible on academic subjects and articles.
Increase your Reading speed.
Read as much as you can every day. This will enhance your speed and reading comprehension ability. The main thing is to grasp with skimming and scanning. Scan the word from Left to right or if you are not getting your answer then scan from Left to Right (Psychologically proven, you will get your desired word). ‘Skim’ means to eliminate the unimportant words and to keep the relevant words.
Check to see if it will fit in the blank.
Keep in mind that your response must be grammatically correct. Examine the type of word that will fit in the available space. Is the word a verb, a noun, an adjective, or an adverb? This will assist you in appropriately answering the question
Transfer your answers
Once you get your answer, transfer your answer in ‘Upper case’ or in ‘lower case’ only. While crafting your response, double-check your spelling. It will not be deemed a correct response if you locate the correct answer but do not spell it correctly then it will be marked incorrect. Although you can write your answer in cursive, if the letter or word is not clear to the examiner then it will lead to the deduction of marks.
